Let the song go on with the Korora Horizon Fund!

As we approach our thirtieth season, we are working to ensure that your choirs stay vibrant and accessible to all! The Horizon Fund is a new endowment which will provide ongoing support to our choirs and our singers for decades to come.

Your donation to the Horizon Fund is a "forever" donation which will keep on giving in perpetuity.

What is an endowment fund?

An endowment fund is made up of donations which will never be spent or withdrawn. Instead, the fund is invested and part of the money earned on the fund is paid out annually as a grant to your organization, while the rest is reinvested. The Korora Horizon Fund is managed by the Edmonton Community Foundation. Typically, the ECF pays out 4% of the fund's accumulated worth annually! These are unrestricted funds -- a guaranteed grant without an application.

How will Horizon Fund grants be spent?

We will invest the endowment fund grants in our singers! Bursaries, special projects, and "big ticket" items like commissions and uniforms are where this money will go.

How much do we need?

We have a founding donor who has committed to match all initial donations up to $20,000! This means your donation goes twice as far right now.

Can you help us get to $60,000 by our thirtieth season? That will be $30,000 to celebrate our first thirty years, and $30,000 to build for the next thirty.

What is the impact of my donation?

Your donation to the Horizon Fund is a "forever" donation. This means:

$100 donated today buys one copy of a piece of music every year forever.

$500 donated today will purchase a choir t-shirt for a young singer every year forever.

$4000 donated today will pay for a singer's retreat camp every year forever.

How can I help?

Consider donating to the fund! All donations are tax receipted, and may be made anonymously, in your own name, or in memory or honour of a loved one.

If you know of a donor who might be interested in joining our effort, let us know!
