KIKIMASU

[kee-kee-MAHS ]

Korora's auditioned children's ensemble, Kikimasu, is celebrating its sixeenth season in 2024-2025! Kikimasu, pronounced KEE-kee-mahs, is a Japanese word meaning, 'to hear, to listen, to ask.' This choir, comprised of singers ages 9 through 12, tackles more challenging music than our non-auditioned children's choir, Tamariki. Kikimasu delves into music of all genres, from classical to pop, sung in unison to three- and four-part treble harmony. Ms. So skillfully weaves a creative methodology, rooted in Orff, Kodaly and eurythmics, to foster beautiful singing and engaged learning. Our one hour, forty-five minute rehearsals fly by in the blink of an eye!

Our daughter has grown so much in her two years with Kikimasu. Ms. So creates an environment where the choristers flourish musically and socially. Their unique talents, also those beyond singing, are recognized and cultivated - what a special organization Korora is!

Sing with us!

Kikimasu will be auditioning new members for the coming season very soon!

Auditions are like a friendly mini voice lesson: no experience is expected or required. We will make you feel as comfortable as possible and we're excited to meet you!

Kikimasu rehearses Wednesdays from 5:00-6:45 PM at St. Luke's Anglican Church, 8424 95 Ave NW.

Please note that bursaries are available, and we make every effort to ensure that financial considerations never preclude a qualified singer from being part of the choir!
